How to build Adirondack chairs

Lean how to make comfortable Adirondack chairs easily – by using the free video tutorial & printable templates (they print to actual size!).  The key benefits to this build is that it can be made with dimensional lumber from hardware stores and it doesn’t have a heavy tool requirement (jigsaw, drill & table saw are the only requirements).

Table saw

orbital sander

Tapering jig

large and small clamps always help!

Roller stand

 

Lumber & materials list (For one chair)

Cedar (4) 1″x6″x8′  (actual dimensions 3/4″ x 5.5″ x 8′)

Cedar (4) 1″x4″x8′ (actual dimensions 3/4″ x 3.5″ x 8′)

(or two 1″x10″x8′ boards)  (note that a 1×10 is actually 3/4″ by 9 1/4″)

Wood stain

Decking Screws

Oritbal sandpaper (150, 220)

Gorilla tape – this stuff is super strong!

Scissors & scotch tape (to cut out templates)
